The Best Time to Be Out Fishing

Have you ever wondered when the best time to be fishing is? Is there a "best" time to be fishing? As I'm sure you've noticed there are times when you catch more fish, and in this article I'm going to explore the reasons why this happens. This information can be used to determine the best time to be fishing and the information can be used to help anyone catch more fish.

Rather than list various reasons why fish bite or don't bite (such as bait, water clarity, and/or water depth) I want to focus on a couple of the biggest reasons why fish bite, so that you can better determine the best time to be out fishing. I want to start by asking you a question. Have you ever had one of those epic days fishing where it seemed that you could do know wrong? Like no matter what you threw into the water resulted in fish being caught?

I most certainly have experienced days like I described above, and the key to days such as this lies in the two forces of Mother Nature. That's right, if you want to know the best time to be fishing, look to Mother Nature, or more specifically the weather and moon. These two forces of Mother Nature hold the keys to the best time to be fishing. Familiarize yourself with the weather and moon and you can make sure that you're always on the water when the fish are the most active.

Whenever you experience one of the "epic" fishing days that I referred to earlier, it was more than likely because you were fishing during the "perfect storm", so to speak. When both the weather and moon were in your favor and the fish were extremely active. Don't you think it would be a good idea to understand this information so that you could begin to use it to your advantage? I can tell you from experience that it most certainly would.

For example, did you know that fish are much more active during certain phases of the moon? In other words whenever the moon is in certain phases, like the new moon phase, you should be on the water fishing. The same principles hold true for the weather. When certain types of frontal systems pass through your fishing are you need to be on the water fishing. When other frontal systems pass through your fishing area you might as well stay at home and read a book!

The bottom line is that if you want to know the best time to be out fishing you need to understand the ways that the weather and moon impact fish behavior, and thus fishing. Understanding these two forces of Mother Nature and using this information to your advantage will help you become a much more successful angler. I know this to be true, because I've been using this information to my advantage for more than twenty years, and if it works for me, it will work for anyone.
